CTV’s Peter Grainger came by the Broadway Shelter less than 24 hours after it opened, and then asked some neighbours what they thought of us coming back.
After three months of providing shelter and assisting folks finding more permanent housing, our three Winter Response shelters start to get ready to close. The good news is not only did 50 people find housing before this announcement, but everyone that was currently staying at our shelters – 113 people – found either permanent housing, or shelter or medical support. No one ended up on the street!
Steve stayed at our East Broadway shelter while he kept working as a longshoreman. Now he has a place of his own.
